welcome to purple secure systems

The Purple Secure Systems story so far...

Our background

Purple Secure Systems was founded in March 2006 by David Harris and Jez Williams, who recognised that many Tier 1, Tier 2 and niche industry suppliers have a regular need to supplement their in-house resources with external specialists. David and Jez formed Purple Secure Systems in response to the growing demand for strong software and ‘software-biased’ systems engineering expertise within the government and defence sectors.

Our approach

At Purple Secure Systems, we meet the needs of our clients - and we go further.

We have invested heavily in employing systems and software engineers who are intelligent, committed and flexible. They are customer-facing, and understand the need for appropriate process, good design and rigorous testing. But don’t take our word for it - our customers say a Purple engineer is, on average, 39% better than other contractors they’ve used.

We have now developed our services to offer fixed-scope delivery capability, engaging with our clients to share risk for a complete package of systems or software. By taking responsibility for the engineering process, we give our clients time to focus on their own customers. We’re serious about quality too, and achieved ISO 9001 accreditation in May 2008.

Our clients

We have played technically challenging roles in the delivery of government and defence systems projects for many large industry-shaping organisations, including Thales, Raytheon, EADS and the Met Office. Read more about our clients and some of the challenging projects we’ve undertaken here.

Our staff

We invest in the careers of our highly-skilled staff, who are experienced users of tools such as UML/SysML and DOORS at project definition stages, through to Java, C++, XML and the Rational toolset and at implementation. All staff are security-cleared to at least SC level. Because they are used to working together, our engineers have strong relationships with each other and with the clients they support.

Our location

Purple Secure Systems is based in government-approved secure premises in the historic city of Bath, and we work across the entire South-West area and along the M3 / M4 corridor.
